Aylesbury United Football Club will be helping to raise both funds and awareness for the Aylesbury Foodbank throughout the 2022-23 football season. The Charity Partner for Aylesbury United was organised by the club's supporters' trust, 21st Century Ducks. The charity partnership concept began in 2018-19 so that the club's charitable giving could be more focused, and since then has raised more than £7,000 for the charities involved.
Aylesbury Foodbank doesn't think that anyone in the community should have to face going hungry. That's why they provide three days' nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to the local people who are referred to them in crisis. Aylesbury Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
One of the first fundraising events will be an annual sponsored walk, which this year will see Ducks supporters walk (and some run) from Aylesbury to Berkhamsted, to mark the 16th season the Club has been without a permanent ground in Aylesbury. The walkers will reach Berkhamsted's stadium in time for Aylesbury United's Bank Holiday league game against the Comrades on Monday 29th August.
