Support the Essex Police Benevolent Fund

Every payment helps us support serving and retired Essex Police officers and their families during times of financial hardship, distress or urgent need. Your support helps us be there for members of our police family when they need it most.

Essex Police Benevolent Fund

The Essex Police Benevolent Fund, founded in 1969, is a registered charity dedicated to supporting serving and retired Essex Police officers and, in some cases, their families during times of financial hardship.

Run by officers for officers, the Fund is independent of Essex Police and managed by a volunteer committee representing all ranks. Monthly contributions from serving officers help create a vital support fund that provides:

Cash grants to officers and their families facing poverty, distress, or suffering

Annual Christmas gifts to widows of retired officers with limited pensions

Emergency financial support for those in urgent need

The Fund is primarily funded through Give As You Earn payroll donations, public contributions, and community fundraising events across Essex.

Although it shares the Essex Police name, the Fund operates independently and in full compliance with Charity Commission regulations.
