WFA 21

About

Welcome to WFA21 – a special event celebrating 21 years of the Wheelchair Football Association.

On Sunday, August 16, 16 teams will come together at the David Ross Sports Village for a unique day of powerchair football, celebrating the players, clubs, volunteers and officials who have helped shape the sport over the last two decades.

To make the day as enjoyable and competitive as possible, players will be drafted into teams rather than representing their usual clubs. The draft has been designed to create balanced teams and provide a fun, inclusive experience that brings together players from every level of the game. Whether you're a long-standing international, a National League regular or newer to the sport, WFA21 is all about celebrating our shared community.

The WFA

The Wheelchair Football Association (WFA) is the national governing body for Powerchair Football in England – a fast-paced, competitive sport designed specifically for people with physical disabilities.

Powerchair Football provides a vital outlet for disabled people of all ages, offering not just sporting opportunity, but confidence, friendship, and community. The WFA supports nearly 600 players across the country, working with clubs, coaches, and partners to grow the game and ensure it remains inclusive and accessible.

WFA Benevolent Fund

The WFA Benevolent Fund is being established to help safeguard and sustain the future of Powerchair Football in England for years to come. The fund will be developed over the medium term, and in time, will grow to a level that could help mitigate financial strain within our existing community and support those who wish to join this wonderful sport. It will also invest in initiatives to help expand the game. Every penny raised will go directly into building the fund for this purpose.

Anyone can give to The WFA Benevolent Fund, and we warmly welcome donations from individuals and businesses taking part in their own sponsored events - now or in the future.
