About

Join us for a scenic community walk and help support people facing homelessness, rough sleeping, social isolation and similar personal crises across Oxfordshire and beyond. 

🌿 About the event 

We are inviting supporters, families, colleagues and friends to take part in a sponsored walk starting at Wolvercote on the edge of Oxford, and taking in attractive surrounding countryside on public rights of way. All are welcome to take part in this event and enjoy exercise in nice surroundings, with the opportunity to meet other people. Choose from three route options according to what best suits you (pricing in the tickets section). Additionally we would like each adult participant to try to raise £100 for Connection Support, or £200 for each family taking part. Before the event, Connection Support will provide: 

  • Route information and instructions
  • Support and guidance to set up an online fundraising page to collect your sponsorship donations
  • Information on public transport to the start point, and local parking options 

During the event, Connection Support will provide:

  • A fun activity sheet for children to complete
  • Marshals at key points around the route
  • A warm welcome at our Wolvercote office at the end of the walk!

Important information: Please read carefully. By purchasing a ticket you agree to the following:

  • All adult participants are responsible for their own safety and those of children accompanying them 
  • All participants are expected to follow instructions provided in advance, and by marshals during the event 
  • Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead or under close control – further instructions will be provided
  • If Connection Support cancels the event, ticket prices will be reimbursed but sponsorship money collected by participants will still be due to Connection Support.

Connection Support

Connection Support is a regional charity dedicated to helping people who are facing homelessness, housing issues, and mental health challenges. Each year, we provide support to over 5,000 people across the Thames Valley and surrounding areas, empowering them to rebuild their lives.

We work alongside a wide range of people, including individuals experiencing homelessness or housing issues, young people, families, prison leavers, people leaving hospital, asylum seekers and refugees. We also support those facing additional barriers, such as having ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ or managing care through Direct Payments.

10 mile route – adult ticket £10

10 mile circular route starting and ending in Wolvercote – not accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs. £10 per adult. Child (under 18) ticket FREE, but must be accompanied by responsible adult.

A 20% group discount available for bookings of eight or more adults taking part together on any single route– please contact fundraising@connectionsupport.org.uk to book for eight or more adults.

3 mile wheelchair and pushchair accessible route – adult ticket £3

3 mile route starting and ending in Wolvercote – accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs: £3 per adult. Free entry for one adult accompanying a wheelchair-user. Child (under 18) ticket FREE, but must be accompanied by responsible adult.

A 20% group discount available for bookings of eight or more adults taking part together on any single route– please contact fundraising@connectionsupport.org.uk to book for eight or more adults.

Please tell us here if any children (under 18) will be accompanying you on the walk (on any route option).  All children must be accompanied by a lead adult.  The lead adult booking the tickets should provide their own details on the next screen.
