Since our founding in 1945, the mission of Wharfedale Naturalists Society has been to record, conserve and educate about the wildlife and natural history of the area. We are a charity run entirely by volunteers and solely rely on funding from our membership fees and donations.

1. Funding tools and equipment at 5 nature reserves ...Sun Lane in Burley, Ben Rhydding Gravel Pits, Otley Wetland, Gallows Hill and Grass Wood.

2. Helping children to engage in nature-based learning through schools and children’s groups.

3. Supporting other charities and organisations who manage nature conservation and habitat improvement in Wharfedale.

4. Running of our popular indoor programme of talks.
