Project Summary
We are seeking £60,000 to replace our ageing accessible minibus, a lifeline for older people in Kenilworth who rely on us for safe, dependable transport. The funding will cover the vehicle, accessibility adaptations, branding opportunities for local sponsors, and essential running costs.
Our current minibus is 16 years old and increasingly unreliable. Yet it still carries out around 130 journeys every week, helping over 90% of our clients reach the day centre, many of whom would otherwise be completely isolated at home.
The Need
The older people we support face profound barriers: mobility issues, dementia, anxiety, limited public transport, financial pressures, and the loneliness of living alone. Without accessible transport, they simply cannot leave their homes.
Breakdowns now threaten their only chance to connect with others, enjoy meaningful activity, and maintain independence.
Who Will Benefit
A new minibus will support:
Around 40 older people each week
Individuals living with dementia
People with disabilities or reduced mobility
Carers who depend on our service for respite
For many, our day centre is their main or only social contact. This vehicle isn’t just transport—it’s connection, dignity, and hope.
