An Ambitious develpoment
We are raising funds for the repair and renovation of the Union Street Methodist Church in Maidstone which is a 200 year old listed building at the heart of the community.
We have raised over £500,000 so far which we have used to undertake essential repairs and preparatory work within the building, including a significant overhaul to the roof.
Now we want to raise another £1million to start work on the development and redesign of the interior of the building and its outside space.
Our aim is create an accessible community hub that can be used by everyone for worship, fellowship, exploring faith and accessing vital community services and activities that will promote wellbeing and meet needs of the residents in and around Maidstone.
We are looking to create new easy access with fully equipped toilets, a community kitchen and a lift to a brand new fist floor area dedicated for multi-community use. We will also be modernising the large downstairs hall area so it can be used form many different activities including being a place of worship fit for the next 200 years.
Sustainable energy systems are being explored to help move the building towards net zero.
We need your help and any amount given will move us closer to our goal along with the grants and funds we are applying for. All donations can be used to claim gift aid as we are now a registered charity number 1214647.
