About

We are a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery and Monastic school.

Our ancient monastery is in Upper Mustang, Nepal. It’s a famous but poor Monastery.

Then we have the monastic school down in Pokhara. Winter is too cold for our kids in Mustang. No heating and -25 C (-13 F) during the night time!

We were living happily when the new Pokhara International Airport was built on the doorstep of the school. Literally. We counted the steps between our outer wall and the airport fence and they are 50 steps.

When the airport will work it will be a disaster.

When they try the loudspeakers, we stop talking because we no longer hear anything but the communications at the airport. Imagine the noise of an aircraft landing or taking off. And the pollution. And the vibrations.

Our diet is also very poor, so would be fantastic to have some vegetables garden and a little orchard. Veggies and fruit are very expensive in Nepal.

The solution is: we have to move in the countryside.

The big problem is: land in Nepal is VERY expensive.

Our needs

We are on the slopes of the Himalayas. The costs of the buildings depend on how steep the land we will find will be. If we will have to make an access road ourselves and so on.

The buildings will have to accommodate 80 people, including monks, children, and teachers. With enough bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, decent classrooms, infirmary, storage (it would be better to have two, one for food and one for other things like bedsheets) and an office-meetings room.

Let's say that the minimum rough budget is around € 270,000.

Considering the average price of the land and risking a hypothesis on the construction, the relocation of the monastic school to the countryside requires the funding of

6100 square meters x 48 € = € 292.800

non-bio buildings about € 270,000

SO WE NEED TO COLLECT:

550.600 €

We will need a lot of help from you, our friends, to raise enough money to go farm!

So, please, old and new friends of SunCave Monastery and monastic school, join us in this incredible adventure: creating the first Tibetan Monastery completely self-sustainable and environmentally friendly!

Offer a little piece of land for the New SunCave Tibetan Monastic School! from Sun Cave Monastery

We are a Tibetan Buddhist Monastic school. That is a boarding school which gives also Buddhist studies. Our ancient monastery is in Upper Mustang, Nepal. It's a famous but poor Monastery.

Our Monastic School is down in Pokhara because the Winter is too cold for our kids in Mustang. No heating and -25 C (-13 F) during the night time!

A new international airport will start working soon at 20 mt (65 feet) from our school! We have to move from here! We want to move to the countryside and become the first Tibetan Buddhist Monastery self-sufficient and 100% environmental friendly. In this way also our kids' food will improve (right now is very poor and creates a lot of health problems, because it is made mainly by carbohydrates).

Our needs

We have fixed our needs with the minimum land possible right now for just moving, which is 6.100 square meters. it will cost a lot, but square meter after square meter we ca reach our goal!

Would you join us sponsoring some square cm (square inches)? The minimum donation possible is 5,50 pounds, and is more or less equivalent (the money exchange keeps on changing) to 20 square cm ( 3.1 square inches)

TO THANK OUR SPONSOR FRIENDS:

We will add all the kind people who will help us to the dedication of many Pujas (prayer cerimonies) for overcoming obstacles and protection. Not many people have this chance! :) and we will keep forever a register with all our friends names. When our target will be achieved we will put a plates with all the names, to be remembered forever.
