About

St Mary's Redlynch

For those who live in or near Redlynch in Wiltshire the image below will be instantly recognisable as our Parish Church in Lover. The building has in fact been here for 185 years, during which time many thousands of people have been through its doors, some of whom now lie at peace in its churchyard.

But, did you know that the running of the church, including the cost of maintaining the building and churchyard and contributing towards the stipend and pensions of clergy, falls entirely on the PCC and congregation? Averaged over the last three years our expenditure works out at around £600 per week which is a huge burden on a relatively small number of people.

The funding currently comes mostly from church collections and regular donors. This is then topped up by fees for funerals and weddings, income from the parish magazine and our fundraising activities which includes our annual Gift Day. This online donation site was launched for Gift Day 2020 and now we are about to hold Gift Day 2022 this year on 20th August when we will be focussing attention on the maintenance of our churchyard. If you can join us on the day between 10.30 am and 4.00 pm you will be most welcome and can join us for a cheese scone or a cream tea.

Whether you live locally or far away, have a connection with our church or just have a love of Victorian church buildings we invite your support by making a donation online to maintain this symbol of a Christian presence in our community,

Please contribute as much as you can - all donations large or small will be gratefully received. If you can add Gift Aid to your donation it will be worth an extra 25% to us.

Thank you
