There are few sights more powerful than a Golden Eagle flying high above a ridgeline, or more joyful than seeing a Red Squirrel leaping through the woodland canopy. Both belong to our upland landscapes, yet both need practical, sustained support if they are to thrive.
Restoring Upland Nature is a young charity with deep roots. We were created to build on the proven success of the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project and to take forward a wider mission; restoring Golden Eagles, Red Squirrels and other upland species, strengthening fragile ecosystems, and engaging people in nature through education, partnership and practical conservation work.
Our work takes place in landscapes that are beautiful, complex and often overlooked. These are places where nature recovery must be built carefully, through trust, science, patience and local understanding. We work with estates, farmers, conservationists, schools, young people and rural communities because lasting change cannot be imposed from outside. It must be grown with the people who live and work in these places.
A donation to RUN helps us do the essential work that sits behind every successful conservation outcome. It helps us plan, travel, monitor, communicate, raise further funds, build partnerships, support volunteers, engage schools and respond to opportunities as they arise.
Your support is invaluable. It helps our charity become stronger, more resilient and more able to deliver lasting change for wildlife and people.
