I am running the London marathon this Sunday to raise money for Northern Ireland Kidney Research Fund.

My wife, Alice and my father-in-law, Martin have faced health challenges due to renal failure. Today, they are leading a healthy life after successful kidney transplants and ongoing medication. Kidney research has supported many renal patients to continue to lead a better life with improved medical provision. 

Your donation will help to raise funds for life saving research into the causes, prevention and possible cures for kidney disease.and provide specialised equipment for research and advances in treatment of kidney diseases not yet available from the National Health Service.

The Northern Ireland Kidney Research Fund supports a wide variety of research projects at Belfast City Hospital and Queen's University that explore why persons develop kidney failure and assess the best forms of treatment for these kidney conditions.Our aim is also to promote the National Organ Donor Register, anyone can register to join visit www.organdonation.nhs.uk or call 0300 123 23 23 or text SAVE to 84118.The NIKRF depends on individuals and small groups of volunteers to raise funds to support the work of the charity, we have no salaried staff therefore virtually all the money raised is used to support NIKRF's aims.
