Poppy's Creche is a registered charity dedicated to the rescue & rehabilitation of orphaned or abandoned hoglets (baby hedgehogs) & sick or injured juvenile and adult hedgehogs with the intention of returning them to the wild. Founded by Ann & Chris Rushbrook & supported by a team of volunteers, the Charity often has over 100 hedgehogs in its care. Named after a very special albino hedgehog, Poppy, the Charity specialises in caring for sick and orphaned hoglets. Ann is committed to hand rearing them & in the early days they need feeding by hand & toileting every two hours day & night. Many of the hedgehogs that are brought to us are suffering from dehydration, malnutrition & internal parasites & working in conjunction with local Vets the hedgehogs are treated and nursed back to health before release. Entirely funded by the founders & by donations from the public all the money raised is spent on the care of the hedgehogs.
