Ponthafren 1000 mile challenge and beyond

About

After the challenges of 2020 what could be better than a bit of exercise and a new challenge to positively bounce into 2021.

Ponthafren invites you to join the 1000 miles and beyond challenge (walk or run), as a team of staff, volunteers, supporters and members we will join forces to collectively meet the first distance of a 1000 miles in 2021 and see where we can end up by December 2021.

We will:

    Record our miles weekly and add them to our total
    Walk safely and locally
    Raise money for Ponthafren

All of this in the spirit of the 5 ways to wellbeing, we’ll connect with each other and be active in our walks, take notice of our surroundings and the people we are with as we potter along, learn about the places we pass (virtually) and give our time and effort to create funds.

Our virtual walk will start off at St Trinity Church Llanidloes where our group met once a week before the COVID pandemic, onto Ponthafren in Newtown, then the Armoury in Welshpool, from there we will head down to Dover and across to Calais, so get ready with your virtual passport! The approximate 500 miles first milestone will be Luxembourg! But why stop there? We keep going and see where end up.

To provide a caring community, offering support to those in need and to promote positive mental health and well-being for all.
