About

Jewish tradition places a high value on education, emphasizing the importance of passing on Judaism l’dor vador ‘from generation to generation’. Here at NWSS we have a policy of making Jewish education freely accessible both to our children, through Nitzanim (Cheder) and our B’nei Mitzvah programme, and also to adults, through a range of learning opportunities. It is donations to our Education Fund which make all this possible. To support teaching and learning at NWSS, please donate here.

North West Surrey Synagogue

North West Surrey Synagogue is registered charity 256232, established in 1968. We are a thriving, growing progressive Jewish community of 840 people. The synagogue is in Weybridge; our members come from a wide area around Surrey and beyond. Our community also includes overseas visitors, from the US, Israel, South Africa and elsewhere, who are temporarily living and working in the UK.

Sadly, Jewish people nowadays find it more difficult to be proud and outgoing of our identity and faith. In our area the synagogue meets a vital need through the support of our members’ spiritual, education, social and welfare needs. We are proud of our ongoing partnership with the wider community.

If you would like to attend a service or have any questions about joining the community we would be delighted to welcome you and answer any questions you may have. Please do get in touch - you can find our contact details and a visitor request form on our Website here.
