About

Manorfield Primary School in  East London, serves one of the most deprived communities in the country.

During this crisis period, we remain open for children of the local area - both those of key worker children and other families.

On Sunday 26th April, our Headteacher, Mr. Jackson will run the full marathon distance (26.2 miles) on the school site, through the corridors and playground, to raise funds to help ensure we can continue to operate a food/essential items distribution system to our vulnerable families (up to approx 400 families).

Working in partnership with the Manorfield Charitable Foundation, we need financial support to purchase items which will complement other donations and goods that can be purchased from the school budget / government contribution for Free School Meals.

The items purchased will include food, nappies, toothpaste, soap, but also pens, pencils, paper and other items for children to use at home.

We also want to make sure we have enough funds to ensure that when the school does fully open again, we can provide the very best facilities which all Manorfield children deserve.

Supporting

Manorfield Charitable Foundation

Our mission is to support the development of the whole child and enhance the quality of life of children at Manorfield Primary School and those accessing Gorsefield Rural Studies and Outdoor Activity Centre by supporting investment in both the school, its programme of engagement with the local community and Gorsefield so that:

 - Manorfield's students have every opportunity to grow into responsible and successful citizens;

 - Manorfield Primary School and Gorsefield become role model of effective inner city primary and outdoor education.

Set in one of the most deprived areas of England, Manorfield Primary School has complex needs to meet in terms of social, economic, health, language and cultural challenges in the community it serves. To achieve its goal of developing the whole child, the school must pay equal attention to its students' educational, personal and social needs. These go well beyond the areas covered by statutory funding and extend outside the school into work with parents and the local community.

The charity's purpose is to find the extra resources that both the school and Gorsefield need to do this important work.
