Lose to Win Challenge: Today, I take on a personal challenge to put a spotlight on Sudan and South Sudan; by eating only one meal a day until my goal is reached.
"The aim is to raise awareness and a financial goal of £150,000 to support South Sudanese and Sudanese refugees who have fled to neighbouring countries and to strengthen the life-saving work of GUA Africa, the charity I founded. This is my way of standing in solidarity with those who have no choice." - Emmanuel Jal
It’s a small act of solidarity with people who have endured immense loss—and a reminder of the sacrifices we can make to support a cause greater than ourselves.
What You Can Do: You don’t need great wealth to make a real difference. You only need willingness. Even small personal sacrifices can make a meaningful difference.
a) Take the "Lose to Win" Challenge. Give up something for one day/ one week/ one month. Calculate the value of the take away coffee/ dinner/ yoga class/ gym membership or night out that you miss and donate that amount. Then pass the challenge to three friends.
b) Give a one-time donation. Any amount helps move us toward the goal.
c) Raise awareness and speak up. Write to your government representatives. Awareness creates pressure, and pressure can create change.
Suffering becomes heavier when ignored.
But when people come together, struggle gains purpose—and purpose leads to change.
