About

Gill's Fund is a memorial to our beloved NWSS member Gill Schuman. Keeping our young people engaged in Jewish activities and programmes was close to Gill’s heart and is Gill’s Fund’s aim.

Created in October 2009, Gill's Fund provides financial awards to NWSS teenagers, to assist them to attend camps and programmes including the Reform Movement's Shemesh and Israel tour (post-GCSE) programmes. Gill knew from her own personal experience these activities reinforce a child's identity, develop future leaders, help build life-long friendships and create unbreakable bonds with Judaism and community. Awards are available to 12-18 year olds who are members of NWSS.

North West Surrey Synagogue

North West Surrey Synagogue is registered charity 256232, established in 1968. We are a thriving, growing progressive Jewish community of 840 people. The synagogue is in Weybridge; our members come from a wide area around Surrey and beyond. Our community also includes overseas visitors, from the US, Israel, South Africa and elsewhere, who are temporarily living and working in the UK.

Sadly, Jewish people nowadays find it more difficult to be proud and outgoing of our identity and faith. In our area the synagogue meets a vital need through the support of our members’ spiritual, education, social and welfare needs. We are proud of our ongoing partnership with the wider community.

If you would like to attend a service or have any questions about joining the community we would be delighted to welcome you and answer any questions you may have. Please do get in touch - you can find our contact details and a visitor request form on our Website here.
