The Friends of St Mary’s (FOSM), Baldock was established in 2006, gaining Charitable status a year later (charity number: 1133060). FoSM was founded to support the preservation and restoration of the 11th Century Church building. Its aims and objectives can only be achieved through the provision of income and much of this comes from the generosity of our community. All income raised by FoSM goes to the Restoration Fund.
Our fundraising programme can be summarised as follows:
- Applying for relevant grants;
- Organising a wide range of activities such as concerts, events, stalls at local fairs, activities and celebratory occasions;
- Maintaining awareness of the historical importance of the Church;
- Responding to Community needs as they arise: e.g. during the Covid pandemic and the current cost of living pressures;
- Providing space and facilities in the Church Hall.
During this year, a priority focus for our fundraising programme will be the repair and restoration of the Church Hall which was severely damaged in senseless vandalism last summer. We thank you for any support you can give to ensure that this essential resource is always there for the benefit and enjoyment of all.
Please feel free to donate to the Charity direct through the pages, or set up a fundraising page for an event. For any advice or support please contact us on fosm@stmarysbaldock.org.uk
