The Friends of St. Marys (FOSM) exists to support the preservation and restoration of the St. Marys the Virgin, Baldock. The charity looks to support the preservation and restoration of the church building.
We need to renew the central aisle roof and carry out essential masonry repairs to make the building watertight and prevent further damage.
The cost of the work is £235,000.
We have already raised £85,000 and have access to a loan for a further £110,000.
We only need to raise another £40,000 to enable the urgent work to go ahead this year.
Visible for miles around, St Mary’s Baldock is a beloved focal point for our whole community.
Its doors are open for concerts, exhibitions and community activities, as well as the traditional purposes of private prayer, worship and life events.
The church has been here for centuries. With your help we can ensure it will still be here for centuries to come.
