Educate for Life is a UK registered charity. Our aim is to support community-led, long-term socio-economic transformation of indigenous Adivasi communities in Southern Rajasthan. We have two main areas of work:
1) Project Diganth - improving secondary education
We work with local partners to implement a carefully designed programme of support for Jhed Senior Secondary School and Mandwa Senior Secondary School, both government secondary schools situated in Kotra. The aim is to support each school’s students, teachers and local community. In the long-term, we aim to see a significant increase in the proportion of young adults from the area in tertiary education or in employment.
2) Community Health Outreach - safe motherhood and childhood programmes
We have designed and introduced a number of health services and interventions to ensure that members of the Bakhel community access professional and reliable healthcare during pregnancy, birth, and early childhood. Our health and community team members are vital to connecting community members with formal healthcare provision as well as providing informal advice and support.
Educate for Life works in partnership with local organisations in rural India to achieve this.
