THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION - ANZAC REMEMBRANCE CIO
Donations that you make will go towards costs for the provision and preservation of the ANZAC ceremony that is held each year at Stonefall Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. There are 97 Australian and 23 New Zealand aviators buried at Stonefall. Their average age was 23 years old and… when the joined their RAF squadrons between 1939 and 1945, their average life expectancy in the air was just SIX WEEKS! We can never forget these brave young men who were just A FEW, of a generation of young men who gave their lives that we may live in peace. Help us provide this service of commemoration in their memory for all the parents, siblings, friends, husbands, lovers and children who waved them farewell, never to see them again.
As stated in our Governing Document and endorsed by our board of six trustees, our official PURPOSE is …
TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE WARTIME SERVICE PROVIDED BY AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND SERVICE PERSONNEL WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN WORLD WAR TWO AND THE PROMOTION OF THE EFFICIENCY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE CROWN BY THE STAGING OF REMEMBRANCE SERVICES ON THE SUNDAY CLOSEST TO THE 25TH APRIL, WHICH IS ANZAC REMBERANCE DAY. THE ADVANCEMENT OF ANY SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES (ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES) AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME.
WE THANK YOU SINCERELY FOR YOUR DONATION
