Docking Heritage Group was formed in 2007 as part of Norfolk County Council's Archiving Rural Community History project. We are a busy and active group and one of the few groups remaining from that time. Our aim is to research, record and present the history of Docking in a way that encourages others to take an interest in and appreciate their local heritage. The Group currently has about 50 members whose interests are many and varied from family & oral histories, archaeology, landscapes and buildings, the impact of the two World Wars and the history of the local railways. We also have an extensive photo archive. We hold regular meetings and talks and have a heritage room where people can come and view our work. We organise our own exhibitions and a local history fair. We rely on fund raising events and the support of others to allow us to purchase the documents, equipment and other items needed to allow us to continue with the researching and recording of our local history and making it accessible to all.
