About

ADHD Parent Support West Glasgow is a parent-led organisation supporting parents and carers of children with a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Children with ADHD have difficulties with memory and controlling their emotions and this can lead to underachievement at school, difficulty making friends and problems with discipline and sleep. Unless children with ADHD are well supported, long term problems such as school exclusion, mental health problems and substance addiction can be a reality for many, and parents can feel very isolated. The group brings parents together to learn about ADHD and become confident and effective. This improves home and school life and enable parents to enjoy their children’s many strengths. The groups offers information and support through regular meetings and workshops in Drumchapel and Scotstoun, family events, an evidence-based website and an online advice forum. They also aim to improve local health and education services for families.
