About

Since the onset of the conflict in Ukraine in February 2022, the ACT Foundation UK has been tirelessly supporting the affected population. Promptly springing into action, our dedicated ACT volunteers embarked on a journey, driving from the United Kingdom to Romania and onward to Ukraine, personally delivering much-needed aid to those in need.

To date, we have dispatched five articulated lorries, carrying more than 70 tonnes of essential supplies, including food, medical aid such as neurological wheelchairs, clothing, and toiletries. Our commitment remains unwavering as we are currently preparing to send another lorry filled with urgently required aid.

Pooling the efforts of our ACT volunteers from across the globe, we swiftly established a distribution hub in Dorohoi, Romania. From this central location, our volunteers ventured into various regions of Ukraine, directly providing aid to individuals who have been impacted by the conflict—those who are in desperate need, injured, or without homes. Witnessing the dire circumstances firsthand, we encountered people taking refuge inside churches, schools, and sports centers, with access to only basic sanitation facilities.

With compassion and determination, our ACT volunteers set about making a difference. They constructed and set up showers, toilets, and laundry facilities, while also installing industrial ovens and kitchen equipment to cater to the substantial number of individuals in need. Recognizing the importance of addressing not only physical but also mental well-being, our volunteers spent time engaging with displaced individuals, offering support and conducting meditation and yoga classes. Moreover, in a heartwarming gesture, over 300 Christmas shoeboxes were sent to bring smiles to the faces of children, instilling hope and assuring them that the world has not forgotten them.

As autumn approaches and the war shows no signs of abating, the displaced people of Ukraine continue to require our unwavering assistance and support. We kindly appeal for your generous contributions, with the assurance that every penny received will be directly utilized for the benefit of those affected. Together, let us extend a helping hand to those in need, affirming that they are not alone in their struggle.

Mohanji ACT Foundation from ACT Foundation

Mohanji ACT Foundation is a charity dedicated to caring for all life on earth. We support projects both in the UK and internationally. Our activities include provision of food, clothing and toiletries to the homeless in the UK and sending food and clothing abroad to needy people. We also support people afflicted by natural disasters and have sent aid such as food, clothing, blankets. Mohanji ACT Foundation works on projects small and large which serve humanity, helping the helpless, giving dignity to the poor, showing kindness and compassion to the less fortunate. This charity was created by P.K. Mohan in 2003 in honour of his daughter, Ammu, who passed away at the age of 4 in a tragic road accident in the year 2000. She displayed maturity and purity way beyond her physical age and during her brief sojourn on this planet her love and charisma touched many people’s lives. Through ACT, little Ammu lives on. ACT Foundation encourages us to find our own ways of coming out of the lethargy, apathy and passivity induced by the stress and confusion of our daily lives and to value our free time as a precious opportunity to serve and express unconditional love towards Mother Earth, her people, plants, animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends.
