Donation - Craig, Fred, Steph, Fras, Cole and Nick are running for NF2 BioSolutions

About

Craig Stewart, Steph Melone, Fraser Galbraith, Nick Bell, Cole and Fred Durnford are taking on a half marathon to support NF2 BioSolutions, an incredible organisation funding research to find a cure for Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2).

NF2 is a rare genetic condition that affects the nervous system and is still not widely known, which makes awareness and research funding especially important.

In 2021, David, Craig’s brother-in-law and a close friend to the rest of the group, was diagnosed with NF2. Despite the challenges, he continues to navigate the ups and downs with resilience, supported by his partner Lizzie and his wider family and friends, which is what motivated us to fundraise and push ourselves this February.

Between us, we’ll be running over 105 kilometres to raise awareness and fund vital, promising research.

NF2 BioSolutions UK

We are a registered UK charity that supports research to bring an end to the pain and suffering of children and adults with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2). NF2 is very rare with under 2000 cases in the UK, it's a condition that causes tumours to grow in the brain and spine as well as elsewhere in the nervous system. As the tumours grow, they cause permenent and life changing damage. Those affected have the condition from birth, NF2 is degenerative and a ticking time bomb. We are a not for profit, patient led charity with all donations going directly to end NF2. Our board of trustees includes the lead specialist for NF2 in the UK Professor Gareth Evans.
