About

Blackburn with Darwen Carers Service provides information, advice and support to family carers. Carers are people who look after their friend or family member who could not manage without their help due to illness or disability.

Our Vision is of a community in which carers have a voice and their needs are recognised and respected. That they are empowered to achieve their goals and aspirations in their caring role

Our Mission Blackburn with Darwen Carers Service exists to provide a ‘one stop’ carers centre that offers support, information and advice to all unpaid carers within Blackburn with Darwen. We want to raise awareness of the needs of carers, encourage carers to participate and have a voice. Bringing carers and the Carers Service together as expert partners to ensure carers needs, wishes and feelings are at the heart of everything we do

Blackburn with Darwen Carers Service

Carers are are people like you and me.... Carers are your friends, your neighbours and family members.

Carers look after a family member or friend who could not manage without their help due to an illness or disability

A carer may look after their mum with Dementia - so not only are they a son, they are also a carer.

A carer may look after their daughter with a learning disability - so not only are they a mum, but also a carer

A carer may look after their husband who has cancer - so not only are they a wife, they are also a carer.

The Carers Service provide information, advice and support to Carers. Offering respite opportunities to support the Carers physical, Emotional and Mental Wellbeing, helping the carer to continue to care

Help us raise money to provide Carers with 'A life of their own' along side caring for their loved one.
