Most juvenile hedgehogs in Brackley get sick and die before they reach breeding age. The reason we are short of adults is because those that do die are no longer being replaced. Extinction will follow, regardless of petitions or holes in fences. In Brackley the life cycle is almost broken. Investigating and highlighting this increased juvenile mortality is our goal. We can only save our species if the experts are aware, but our findings locally go against accepted theory.
From a hospital perspective we cannot cope with the volume of sick hedgehogs found in Brackley each year. Raising funds is not only essential for food, medicine and housing at the hospital, but finding suitable premises is vital to continue our work.
Thank you very much for your help.
