We’re launching a new appeal to commemorate 50 years of the provision of our services to women and children in Luton. We keep helping survivors of domestic abuse to successfully move on to independent living, free from violence to achieve an overall well-being. Supporting our important local cause will help us to renovate our refuges.
About
Supporting
50 for 50 Campaign from Women's Aid in Luton
Almost 2 million people in England and Wales are impacted by domestic abuse each year ... 70% of victims and survivors are women.
At Women's Aid Luton, this festive time we would like to raise £4,000 towards delivering a wellbeing programme for women and children who have fled domestic abuse.
Situations of violence, emotional abuse and coercive control often lead to the women we support developing complex mental health problems such as PTSD or anxiety. Our wellbeing programme is essential in supporting women's healing process and ensuring they have the best chance of recovering from the trauma that they have endured. Through our wellbeing programme we hope that women and children will be able to reclaim their voice and live a life free from harm.
The women and children we support deserve peace of mind not just over the festive season but always.
