Claudine's Chester Half For Dynamic

Story

On 18th May I will be running the Chester half marathon to raise funds for Dynamic, a Wrexham based charity who provide support and a range of services to children who have a disability and their families.

Our daughter Evie is 14 and has Down Syndrome. Evie had been accessing Dynamic for around 4 years now and loves the time she spends at her after school Dynamic group and the holiday club she has attended too.

Attending these sessions allows Evie the chance to socialise with other young people her age and take part in a wide range of activities independently of her family - which is so important to her as a teenager.

Over the last 18 months Evie has also joined the Dynamic Signing Sensations choir, attending practices twice a week and performing with them at a range of events. Evie absolutely loves being a member of the choir and it has been a delight to see her blossoming confidence at the performances - she always has a massive smile on her face - especially when they perform one of her favourite songs from The Greatest Showman!

By training and completing this half marathon I am hoping to be able to raise some much needed funds for Dynamic to help them to continue to offer the valuable support they provide to young people and their families like ours. Any donation you can make would be so gratefully received. Thank you!

Dynamic Wrexham

We are based in Wrexham, North Wales, providing services for children and young people with disabilities and their families. These include:

After-school/weekend activity sessions which provide social opportunities as well as helping to build independence skills; enabling young people to have their voice heard about the issues that matter to them, as well as helping to build resilience in those that need it most because of emotional, social or behavioural difficulties.  We also have a signing choir who enjoy performing locally.

We also provide support to parents/carers with regular well-being sessions.

Whilst we receive funding to deliver some of these services, this does not cover all that we offer and we rely heavily on the generosity of others to match fund. Any support you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
