I’m running the London Marathon for Hands Up For Down's, a small local charity in Swansea that supports children with Down Syndrome and their families.
This Charity is very close to my heart because my 6-year-old son, Samu, has Down Syndrome, and they have been such an important source of support for us as a family.
One of the Charity's main priorities is providing Speech and Language sessions for its members. Their aim is to help each child improve their ability to express themselves, understand others, and engage with the world around them. These vital sessions help children develop communication skills that can enhance their participation in school, reduce frustration, and build confidence and independence.
Hands Up For Down's also provides a range of other wonderful opportunities and activities for local children with Down Syndrome, giving them experiences they might not otherwise be able to try due to lack of accessibility. These include assisted surfing, bike riding, drama sessions, and other activities that help them grow in confidence, develop communication skills, and have fun.
I have seen firsthand the difference their support makes. By supporting my London Marathon challenge, you’ll be helping them continue their invaluable work.
Thank you so much for your support!
