Fundraiser - Tom - Fareham and Crofton CC U18s South Africa Tour 2026

Story

Meet Tom, an all-rounder and slow-medium pace cross seamer representing Fareham & Crofton Cricket Club’s U18 squad on their Cape Town tour in December 2026.

Tom brings versatility and positivity to the side, contributing with both bat and ball. Whether working the ball behind square (his favourite scoring area) or mixing up his pace with the ball, he’s always looking to impact the game. His tour goal? To score more than he concedes and play his part in every match. Inspired by Joe Root’s consistency and composure, Tom approaches cricket with confidence, humour and resilience, even after the occasional mishap, like heading out to bat indoors without gloves.

South Africa Tour 2027 - Fareham and Crofton Cricket Club

In February 2027, the Fareham & Crofton Cricket Club U18s will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime tour to Cape Town, South Africa. From the 13th February to 22nd February, the squad will take part in competitive fixtures against local opposition, alongside training, cultural exchange, and community engagement activities.

This tour is about more than cricket. It is designed to develop our young players as athletes and individuals, building resilience, teamwork, global awareness, and a strong sense of giving back.

As part of the tour, we are proudly supporting two charities:

The Elizabeth Foundation – a Portsmouth-based charity supporting deaf children and their families.

CATCH Trust – a South African charity founded by Gary Kirsten, using cricket to create opportunity and life skills in under-resourced communities.
