Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. We are excited to announce that we are participating in the "Great Selby Bike Ride 2026" to raise funds for "Selby District Vision". Our charity is dedicated to supporting individuals with visual impairments, ensuring they have access to essential services and resources.

We are also actively looking for individuals or teams who would be willing to take part in the ride on behalf of our charity. Whether you're an expert cyclist, part of a local group, or a workplace team looking for a challenge, we would love to hear from you. If you can help by riding for us, please get in touch - your support would make a huge difference.

In these challenging economic times, small charities like ours face significant hurdles in continuing our vital work. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a tremendous impact on our ability to provide support and services to those who rely on us. Your generosity can help us reach our target of £2,000, which will directly benefit our community.

Donating through Peoples Fundraising is simple, fast, and completely secure. Once you donate, your contribution goes directly to the charity, making it the most efficient way to support our cause.

We invite you to join us in this journey by contributing today. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Supporting

Selby District Vision

Selby District Vision is a local charity committed to helping people experiencing sight loss, within the Selby District. First established in the early 1960’s, then registered officially as a charity in the early 1980’s, Selby District Vision has been assisting local people for over 50 years. There are an estimated 2,000 people living with sight loss in the Selby District today. We are dedicated to reaching those individuals, assisting and supporting them however we can.We aim to meet the needs of visually impaired people by providing information, resources, social and recreation opportunities; promoting independence. Striving to involve the wider community in our work, we provide the public with visual awareness opportunities and have regular community fundraising events.Receiving no state funding, we rely entirely on fundraising, legacies and donations to continue our work. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation.
