Hello from Team EV - we're representing Elders Voice at the Blenheim Palace Triathlon & will be undertaking the sprint team relay!
"My first & only competitive bike race was in 1972 at a council run scheme providing activities for kids in the holidays. The aim was to get from point A to point B in the longest time possible. I didn’t win. But I think it has put me in good stead to be representing Elders Voice as a cyclist in the triathlon. What drives me to be part of Team EV is the fabulous work our organisation does. I’m proud of my staff’s commitment to ensuring older people are not forgotten. Loneliness can make people physically & mentally unwell. The money we raise contributes directly to giving people the chance to make new friends & lead happy & health lives." - Jon, CEO
"I learned to swim in my 40s purely to overcome my fear of deep water. I enjoyed the learning process so much that I joined a swimming club & started competing. I have very little experience of open water swimming; it is quite a personal challenge however, one that I am happy to rise to so that I can fundraise for Elders Voice. I believe our work is about enabling ageing on your own terms & making it a wonderful and worthwhile journey." - Graziella, Finance Manager
"Running has always been a part of my life, in good times & bad. When work is busy, running can be neglected but it is always a joy to start up again; especially now I have an event to train for, and working with Jon and Graziella will be a lot of fun. I have been a trustee of Elders Voice for two years, and it is clear what a vital role it plays in the local community. Please do give generously and help Elders Voice to keep amplifying the voices of our elderly. One day, when I have long since hung up my running shoes, Elders Voice might even be helping me!" - Lawrence, Trustee
