On 1st March, I’ll be lining up for my first (and probably last 😉) half marathon — a long-held dream finally coming true.
I’ll be running in memory of my dad, a keen runner, who we lost after his fourth battle with cancer.
But most of all, I’ll be running for a cause very close to my heart ❤️: Lynch Syndrome UK.
Our family has been deeply affected by cancer, much of it linked to this inherited genetic condition. In simple terms, it means being born with a higher risk of developing certain cancers at a much younger age — for our family as early as 28. I was diagnosed myself at 43.
If we are here today, it is thanks to early detection, regular screening and close medical follow-up.
👉 Lynch Syndrome UK works to:
• Promote screening and prevention
• Support families facing a diagnosis that is still too little known
• Share information and the latest research
If you’re able to support us, donations (even a few pounds) can be made here.
Every contribution makes a real difference to families affected by Lynch syndrome.
🙏 Thank you so much for your kindness, support and encouragement.
On 1st March, I won’t be running alone — family members and a close friend will also be taking part in the half marathon or the 10K, with others cheering us on from the sidelines ❤️
