Long training runs complete and time to taper!!
Just over 2 years ago I started my journey back to running after my heart issues. I never imagined I’d be running the London marathon and would be able to run 20 miles without serious physical injury!
As some of you will know I’ve been really struggling with my mental health for the last few months. Every day I’m fighting with depression, anxiety, and low self esteem. I’m doing everything I can to get better but it’s really tough.
When I’m running my brain is calm and I have something I can like about myself. And having a goal like running the London Marathon and fundraising for such an important local charity Headway East Northants has also helped remind me I’m pretty damn good!!
Please help me to raise as much money as possible….

Thank you to everyone who has helped me raise over £4000 already. Although I’ve hit my original fundraising target I’d like to keep pushing to raise even more for such an important local charity.
My focus has turned to the marathon training and putting in the long miles to prepare me for the big day!

Wow!! I'm so grateful to everyone who's donated so far. In the last month I've raised nearly £1000 (this included donations for clearing a garden and pressure washing a driveway) which means I'm getting really close to my target. However I'm really keen to go beyond the £1800 and raise as much money as possible for such an amazing local charity. I now have over £1100 of prizes for my charity christmas raffle, and I'm finding every opportunity possible to promote. Please feel free to share the details attached if you have friends or family that would like to enter.

Thank you to those that have already donated. I’ve already raised over £600 towards my target of £1800 to support my charity partner, Headway East Northants. I’ve been busy organising more fundraising ideas which include:-
• Christmas Advent calendar raffle with 24 local businesses in my home town who have donated prizes
• Offering my DIY/ handyman services to friends & family in return for donations
My aim is to complete as much of my fundraising as possible before the end of the year so that I can then focus on my marathon training.
My formal marathon training starts in January however I’m still putting the miles in now to build strength & stamina. I’ve been completing a half marathon race every month in 2025 and for August this was the Naseby Battlefield run, 13.2 miles around the picturesque countryside of Northamptonshire. It had some crazy steep hills so I was very surprised to complete the course in 2hrs 18mins my second fastest HM time since returning to running last year. August also saw me run 98 miles (157 km), the most I’ve ever completed in a single month.
I’ll share another fundraising progress update next month plus include how I got on at the Northampton half marathon race.
