Fundraiser - Ljubljana Marathon

Story

Running for your life is a saying that not many, fortunately, have to put into action. But, for one man, running has saved not only his own life, but after hundreds of miles in all weathers and terrains, it has also raised vital funds and inspired others going through their own trauma and adversity. After year on year of not getting a lucky entry into the London Marathon, Derek has turned his determination to bigger quests... and he's challenging himself with a solo trip to Ljubljana in Slovenia to undertake the huge 26 mile marathon alongside thousands of fellow runners from around the world.

This is a massive undertaking for a man whose confidence has taken mountains of resilience to even organise a local journey, let alone travel solo into the heart of Europe, as well as battle physical and mental health problems to have the endurance needed in this race. Derek is committed and driven by his quest to raise funds for a new boys and men'sl health project with Wellbeing in Action (charity 1192217).
