I shall be running the GREAT NORTH RUN on 12th September to raise money for the charity TOFS. Last year due to COVID I had to run the race virtually (in York) and was pleased to raise over £500. This year I hope to raise a minimum of £1000. In 2018 my grandson was born with long-gap oesophageal atresia - which proved difficult to remedy and he spent 19 months in hospital both in London (Evelina) and Bristol (Bristol Royal Hospital for Children). In the latter he underwent lengthy and innovative surgery. He is now a happy 3 year old. All this has been a very stressful time for his parents and wider family. TOFS is a charity that helped us to understand the condition and the possible outcomes and treatment. They are a small charity that gives vital support to parents, families and to TOFS children as they manage this rare condition. Every penny will be valuable in helping them to continue their excellent work. Please do sponsor me and help me reach my target.

TOFS offers support to people born with Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula (TOF) and/or Oesophageal Atresia (OA). These are rare congenital malformaltions of the gullet and windpipe. Immediate neonatal surgery is a treatment, not a complete cure. We are UK-based and receive no public-sector support at all.
