Fundraiser - David Tarbun's Long and Winding Walk

Story

I am walking over 150 miles over 5 days from Liverpool to Towcester, stopping at Middlewich, Stafford, Birmingham and Rugby, finishing off back on the mound in Towcester. This will happen from the 3rd to the 7th June.

This walk is in memory of my Dad, Jack Tarbun, who passed away quite suddently when I was 15 back in the year 2000. He was a massive fan of the Beatles so I want to do this walk to honour his memory and reflect on his life and what has happened in the 26 years we have been without him.

I am raising funds for the wonderful Lighthouse Centre, who are a pallitive care charity. They do wonderful work, giving therapies to people suffering and struggling in many different ways.

The Lighthouse Centre

We offer palliative care in Northampton to help Cancer patients manage pain, Parkinson's sufferers find ease and those with anxiety to find calm. It's no secret that emotional wellbeing plays a huge part in our quality of life and supporting your wellbeing is essential when facing long term illness. While your GP or hospital team are focusing on your medication, there are other treatments which can give you hope and ease your suffering. The Lighthouse Centre provides complementary therapies to those needing palliative care in Northampton. Whether it's massage to ease pain and encourage movement, hypnotherapy to encourage sleep and fight fear, or counselling for those patients and their families who are facing worries.
