Because every step can change a life.
As I turn 50 and prepare for my 8th full marathon (Tokyo, March 2026) and 9th full marathon (London, Apr 26), I’m not slowing down — I’m stepping it up.
From May 2025 to April 2026, I’ll be running 50 half marathons in 50 weeks, combining organised races with weekly local runs. This challenge kicks off with:
Birmingham Half Marathon – 4 May - Manchester Half Marathon – 18 May
I’ll be running most weeks, joining official events every month or so, and sharing progress on Strava and this page along the way. (as of Jan 26 I have done 30 half marathons !)
Why am I doing this?
Because turning 50 feels like the perfect moment to give back, especially when I still feel 30.
I’m running to raise funds for Sewa UK and Lepra UK — two incredible charities creating lasting change for some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
Your support will help:
- Children with disabilities and their families, providing vital therapy, education, skills development and emotional support
- Dream Project – education for tribal girls in Rajasthan
- Cochlear implants - for children, alongside speech therapy and training for mothers
- Knowledge on Wheels – a mobile classroom bringing education to children in remote Indian villages
- Medic4Sewa – delivering essential healthcare and life-changing surgeries in underserved communities in Chitrakoot, India
In March 2026, I’ll also be running the Tokyo Marathon in support of Lepra UK, helping to eradicate leprosy in India and support families to overcome stigma and rebuild their lives
