When I was just five years old, I stood at the barriers of the London Marathon and watched my father disappear into a sea of runners.
The music, crowd, darting across London to try catch him at a number of different spots has stayed with me ever since.
For seven years, I have applied to run the London Marathon. This year, I got the call.
Why I'm Running
Running has been my lifeline. It keeps me sane and grounded.
For the past 15 years, I've called Africa home, and I've seen the incredible resilience of girls here and the devastating barriers that stand in their way.
That's why I'm running for the Netball Development Trust a charity using sport to transform lives, break cycles, and open doors for girls to be able to gain all the benefits being active can provide.
What the Netball Development Trust Does
The Netball Development Trust operates in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, and India. They don't just teach netball — they use the game as a tool to:
- Provide sexual health education that empowers girls to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures
- Create pathways to education — 48 girls in Kenya have already earned full sports scholarships through NDT's programme
Over 24,000 children have been reached. That's 24,000 lives impacted by the power of sport & education.
What Your Donation Does

- £100 provides a full year of the programme — the kind of year that rewrites a girl's
